On the morning of June 17th, Kostas Sakkas was evacuated from the Koridallos prison’s hospital to the general hospital of Nikaia, in Piraeus. The comrade is in critical condition.

Message from a fellow prisoner in struggle, on Corfu Island, in solidarity with Kostas Sakkas:

I stand in solidarity with the struggle of hunger striker Kostas Sakkas, and as a minimal display of my solidarity, I stop receiving prison meals as of today, June 17th. As is known, Kostas Sakkas is on strike since the 4th of June, and puts himself in the ultimate test of not taking food, fighting against the attempt of Power—targeted against any anarchist militant—to destroy its enemies… The extension of his 30-month pretrial detention shows the audacity of authorities to violate their own laws in order to serve terrorism and abolition of every individual right.

The passion for freedom is stronger than all prison cells!

 “We roam freely but in quotation marks this is why our eyes are full of explosives”

On Thursday 13/6 -and while our comrade K.Sakkas is on his 10^th day of hunger strike demanding his immediate release- us four were all there for different cases at the appellate on Loukareos.. During our transfer and our appearance at the appellate there were provocations by the cops of the E.O.M. (special tranfer unit). The “service preformed” by this trash of the EOM is to transfer anarchists as well other dangerous prisoners that might escape.

 During our exit form the appellate and amidst chants from the solidarian comrades, one of us was attacked by the cops. The cowardly cops threw him to the floor of the hallway (10 metres from the transfer van), dragged him to the van while kicking and punching him and put him in the specially shaped cage inside while handcuffed. When we got to Koridallos and after more provocations we attacked the 13 cops of the EOM with whatever we had in front of us (chairs, drawers, ashtrays, telephones, fire extinguishers etc.) destroying at the same time the prisoner receiving room while fending of the cops. It all ended with the intervention of the sergeant together with some prison employees in the role of “balancers”.

Prison is the world of conventions and we at a large degree adjusted to it. Formalities, democratic rights, daily “services”, locking and unlocking, “pleasant” transfers. This narcosis upon which the function of the prisons is based, does not make us forget the hostile role of the people we have in front of us. We on our side will choose the attack when the limits of the dykes of dignity we set for ourselves are surpassed. They should know that in every such move they will find us against them.

 What is indisputably clear in the post-crisis historical condition is an economic war. A war which is for sure is from the top towards the bottom, since these last decades the “proletariats” constantly signed treaties of “social peace”, tearing up their collective conscience and living in dreams of consumerism and fabricated prosperity! Now, however, the economic elite, in cooperation with the legal and political authority, takes of the mask of the “right to work” and shows its real – frightening side “it is a privilege to be a slave in the modern hard labour camps”! Lets not be fooled therefore, this economic war we can and must transform it into social war whose aim will not be the sterile claim of “workers rights” but the destruction of today’s meaning of work as well as every structure of authority. In this war the state mechanism seeing the wider social unrest, which grows day by day, wants to subdue all resistance, through fear, using all means at its disposal: propaganda of terror-lust and economic insecurity, unseen violent oppression, arbitrary laws and constitutional revisions which are carried out without any political cost and with a clear political intention.

“Nobody can continue hiding behind of the regularity of their life, but we must leave behind our limits and barriers and go onto the attack.”

 The line between the two camps is very clear. On one side we have the economic, political and legal authority ready to use whoever is willing to state their complete subjugation, to the above, and on the other we have people who resist, overcoming their fears and transforming their everyday life into aggressive action, creating cracks aiming at the deconstruction of this rotten system, hunting moments of absolute freedom, living for today and risking everything. In this camp I place myself as a part of the anarchist movement, which independently of the objective conditions must awaken its collective conscience, overcome the ankylosis and its vested in order to use every time-space with insurrectionist and battle intention. The means we have at our disposal are many and our intention, besides their use for the achieving of our aims, is their diffuse. The sharing of communiques, the self-organized and self-managed spaces, political posters, solidarity acts, sabotage, arsons, conflictual demo’s as well as armed struggle are arrows in our quiver. Every action has its own importance and causes its own crack in the under-layer of social cohesion. Of course there is a gradation in the risk we will take in every battle in this war and it is a personal choice which ways everybody will get involved. The only sure thing is that we all must consistently support co-completion of a wide range of means and different dialectics in the anarchist movement whose intentions are mass social unrest as well as the transition to communal structures of individual and collective freedom.

In relation to our case (Nea Filadelfia) I want share some of my thoughts:

 Concerning the clandestine condition in which two of my comrades were in (F.H. and A.D.)

The aim of the legal authority, when publishing arrest warrants, is mainly to isolate each anarchist. How the comrades will attempt to break this regime of isolation, does not depend of course only on them, but on all of us who owe to show our factual solidarity, to keep them near us, at a comrade as well as friendly level… !

 After one month of detainment the following sentences contain a critique of our arrest but also for all those who claim the title of the “infallible”

“One mistake was enough for the walls to rise around us, for the days and nights to become smaller and for us to find ourselves hostages…

This is why you who is going forward should look back at your mistakes and the mistakes of the others and use them in order to be one step closer to the continuation of your daily attack! As for you, who simply remains inactive and your concern is spiteful chatter and safe cafeteria critiques about the actions and mistakes of the others, I have one thing to recognize to you – YES! YOU ARE INFALLIBLE! – ”

 I conclude by saying that we remain UNITED and STRONG ready to fight, with whatever means we have, until we tear down every conceivable and real prison.

12^th June 2013 – The preliminary hearing of the trial against Nicola and Alfredo, a hearing to be held behind closed doors and in the absence of the accused, was postponed to July 5.

The investigating judge accepted the defence lawyer’s request for adjournment, due to the late acquisition of the last lot of transcriptions of environmental bugging, which were submitted only last week.

From the local press of the Umbria region we learn that:

 On Thursday June 6 the preliminary hearing against comrades Alessandro Settepani, Giulia Marziale and Francesca Paola Iozzi, the only three investigated anarchists of ‘operation Ardire’ whose case is still with the court of Perugia (the rest of the case was in fact transferred to Milan owing to territorial jurisdiction) was to be held. But judge Alberto Avenoso declared himself unable to carry out the task because he had already issued a decree of extension of the same investigation.

The hearing has been therefore postponed to July 17. In the meantime it will be assessed whether or not the judge can preside over the trial. If he cannot, another date will be set and another judged will be appointed.

 On July 12 comrades Giulia Marziale and Francesca Paola Iozzi should be released from house arrest as the terms of detention expire on that date. As for Alessandro, locked up in the prison of Ferrara, we need to wait for the decision of the investigating judge concerning the request for extension of pre-trial detention made by Milan prosecutors.

 On Thursday morning a group of comrades showed solidarity with the arrested and imprisoned comrades outside the court of Perugia. A banner was unfolded: ‘Ale, Giulia, Paola free!’ Policemen and Digos officers were present outside the court too.

 Palermo – After we found bugs in our house we took them off, photographed them, destroyed them and dispose of them… as you usually do with cops’ things.

Actually it was NOT totally unpredictable, but we somehow couldn’t see it was coming.

What have people of Turkey being doing until this revolt?

Students have beaten up the teachers , who gave them grades lower than they deserved. People stabbed doctors, who neglected their loved ones. They shot sergeants to run away and deserted obligatory military service.

They crashed police stations and beaten up abusive police officers.

After courts gave their verdict, people gave a taste of their own verdict at the hallways of courts. Women brought their own justice to their violators.

They committed suicides under the pressure of big exams, credit card debts. ** Insurrection of individuals and revolutionary groups finally touched each other and got connected Gezi Park Resistance.

So we wanted to share some of our observations from behind the barricades with you: * Roads were blocked, trunks and back seats are checked to see if they secretly sneak gas bombs to police.

Because police used ambulances to sneak bombs, people carefully searched them , people stoned fire trucks because they were observed to be carrying water for the water cannons that put out fire barricades. * ID checks for those who were suspected to be undercover police.

* CCTV’s and cameras were dismantled and damaged.

* More than 40 outstanding barricades were set. Pavement stones, billboards, traffic signs, trash cans, whatever is in hand and lying around , were used.

* Banks, ATM’s , billboards and bus stop advertisements were destroyed.

* Police containers and police cars were set on fire , OR used for the benefit of public.

* Construction machines and buses were overturned , damaged and set on fire.

* Food and necessary supplies were shoplifted from corporate supermarkets around the neighborhood. * Media vehicles ( CNN van) were overturned and destroyed.

* A bulldozer was captured to counter-attack riot control vehicles and water cannons were pushed out of the streets. * Young kids , who were abused and humiliated by cops everyday, set the record straight by stoning and cursing them in their face. They wrestled back their integrity.

* Trucks and bulldozers were captured and used to build barricades.

* Unorganized and largely apolitical youth got acquainted, discussed and mutually learned tactics and strategies with more radical and organized groups.

* Thousands of young people got first hand experience in clashing with police forces.

** * Large solidarity network was spontaneously organized for food, beverage, solution for tear gas and cigarettes. * Beverage and food points were set up to disperse free stuff to whomever in need.

* People started to frantically share everything, their chocolate bars , cigarettes, their home-made food , food they were given by others..

* Trash and litter were collectively collected, even the cigarette butts.

* Everybody was helping everybody with anti-acid solutions against tear gas on the barricades.

* People opened their houses’ doors , as well as small cafes and shops, for perfectly random protestors , who were cornered by police forces.

* Housewives and other people in the neighborhoods joined the protests with making noise with pans etc. * Food and anti-acid solution kits were placed in a lot of spots.

* First- aid points were set up.

* Doctors ran from barricade to barricade during heavy clashes.

* Street vendors happily proliferate in the absence of police, who normally chase them and confiscate their stuff.

* Sex workers, including transsexuals could work, stroll around, and mingled with others freely without being abused.

A vacant area under closure had been liberated for the public and turned into a small park.

* Some other vacant houses, which were under mortgage closures, were occupied and put into use. * A small urban garden were created.

* A free library were set up.

* People read bulletins and pamphlets like they never did before .

They thought things they never thought before.

* People claimed back and made the streets their own again with graffiti, stencils and various different flags and colors instead of billboards and commercials.

* Instead of going to work or back home with public transportation or cabs , people marched slowly under clouds of tear gas chanting slogans and curses . They weren’t scared anymore, they kept on marching.

* People determined their own agenda , not parties, powers or leaders.

* Not a single woman were abused. They freely marched, strolled around and stayed in the park.

* People spent their time together instead of killing it in front of tvs or computer screens.

* Masses were disillusioned and openly started to criticize mass media.

* Kurds freely waved their guerrilla flags ( PKK) , showcased portraits of their guerrilla leader under arrest ( Apo) and enjoyed themselves with their traditional collective folk dances. Natonalists willy nilly had to get used to it. Even some of them couldn’t resist and joined the dances. * Middle-class activists with their pristine bourgeois hygiene standards, ate the same food , shit in the same portable johns and went long periods without showers together with the homeless people and street animals.

*** People realized life without cops is JOY, indeed ” Life is so boring, there is nothing to do except spend all our wages on the latest skirt or shirt.

Brothers and Sisters, what are your real desires?

Sit in the drugstore, look distant, empty, bored, drinking some tasteless coffee?

Or perhaps BLOW IT UP OR BURN IT DOWN
