These comrades are serving a 10-year sentence for ‘devastation and plunder’, a charge that Italian prosecutors devised in order to punish the hundreds of rebels who rioted in Genoa during the G8 summit in July 2001.  Marco has been imprisoned for almost 25 years in Italian and Swiss jails because of his tenacious and determined struggle against nuclear power and environmental devastation. A year after he was jailed in 1979, he escaped and was recaptured after spending 10 years on the run.
He never bowed his head in prison; on the contrary he has always contributed to the struggle with his rebel and indomitable being, which is still costing him continuous harassment from the prison administration and the judiciary.
