Athens Polytechnic School, Exarchia: Solidarity with anarchist N. Romanos, on hunger strike since 10/11
So as to become another centre of solidarity and participation in the struggle of anarchist hunger striker Nikos Romanos (since 10/11/14), as well as the comrades who are now on hunger strike in solidarity with Nikos, Yannis Michaelidis (since 17/11/14), Dimitris Politis and Andreas Dimitris Bourzoukos (since 1/12/2014).Nikos Romanos has been held hostage by the State since 1/2/2013 for the double robbery of a bank and the post office in Velvedos, Kozani. His act is part of the diverse anarchist struggle against all those responsible for enforcing on society the pillaging committed by capital and the state.
The political choices of Nikos Romanos and his militant commitment to the struggle marks a continuation of the December 2008 revolt. He is struggling for a world without authority, without exploitation and bosses. The struggle of the prisoners on hunger strike for a breath of freedom, against the savagery of incarceration and the ever increasing repression of the prison system (e.g. suspension and denial of permits, widespread enforcemement of solitary confinement, construction of new high security prisons) goes side by side with the struggle of all repressed people against subordination and the ransacking of our lives.
The occupation of the Athens Polytechnic School aims at lending the liberated ground of the Polytechnic the characteristics of an open, mass militant centre of struggle, alongside any other point of struggle that surfaces for the satisfaction of N. Romanos’ demands (the granting of educational leave from prison) as well as towards social liberation.
