enlacallecasopdnOn 24th February 2017 the third oral tribunal of the penal unit issued sentences against comrades Felipe, Manuel and Amaru, convicted of an incendiary attack on the Homicide Squad of the PDI [investigating police] in November 2014.
In the end the comrades were sentenced to 5 years outside prion under intense surveillance by gendarmerie officers, on charges of attempted murder in residential area.
Manuel, Felipe and Amaru got out Santiago prison hours later, and were welcomed by their families and friends amidst hugs and greetings.

Most likely one of the parties will make an appeal against the sentence in an attempt to exacerbate the verdict.
The repressive hunt that began after the incendiary attack on the homicide squad, the incessant recourse to DNA testing in this case, the unfolding of the repression in the hunt for the perpetrators and their relations, saw an end today with the acquittal of the two female comrades and the sentencing of the 3 compas (still a sentencing, even if they got “conditional release” and went out of jail). As we understand this perspective it is important to evaluate, reflect, consider and become aware of repression and its effects.
We are happy about Manuel, Amaru, Felipe, Natalia and Maria Paz being in the streets. But let’s not forget all the revolutionary prisoners who are in prison or awaiting trial: the struggle continues till the destruction of all cages.
To sum up the comrades are:
Natalia Alvarado: acquitted of all charges
Maria Paz Vera: acquitted of all charges
Manuel Espinoza: 5 years under surveillance for attempted murder in residential area. Acquitted of the charges of transporting an incendiary device and of attempted murder.
Victor Zuñiga (Amaru): 5 years under surveillance for attempted murder in residential area. Acquitted of the charges of transporting an incendiary device and of attempted murder.
Felipe Roman: 5 years under surveillance for attempted murder in residential area. Acquitted of the charges of transporting an incendiary device and of attempted murder and minor drug trafficking.
