FREEDOM FOR PASKA AND GESPE!
FREEDOM FOR ALL!
‘Now you are alone, your friends have gone and won’t come back.’ This is a banal provocation that some ‘brave’ screw addressed to Paska, imprisoned in the Borgo San Nicola jail since 3rd August. Ridiculous provocation, normal routine also for many other prisoners and which we are only mentioning to draw attention our comrade’s situation as he’s still detained.
On 3rd August 2017 Florence prosecutors began an operation with the arrest of 8 comrades between Florence, Rome and Lecce. The charges – attempted murder, aggravated damage and transport of an explosive device – led to raids coordinated by the police in three places: the Riottosa squat in Florence, a comrade’s home in Rome and La Caura squat in Lecce. The police operation refers to an explosive attack on the bookshop Il Barghello, linked to Casapound, in Florence (1st January 2017), where an incompetent bomb disposal expert was injured, and to an incendiary bottle against the carabinieri barracks in Rovezzano, Florence (21st April 2017).
6 comrades were released a few days later. Only Ghespe and Paska remain in prison. The former, imprisoned in Florence, is the only one whose remand in custody was justified by DNA traces found on the device. On the contrary Paska, arrested in Lecce, was kept in jail on another charge, that of organized crime. It is obvious that both comrades are being subjected to dirty power games made of delays, long bureaucratic procedures and the waiting for the results of requests of release, promptly resulting in the judges’ refusal.
The state is exploiting this occurrence as best as it can, so as to try to strike our comrades’ courage, as the latter have never shown fear towards a power that makes people miserable, locks them up, devastates and kills in order to keep going. Isolation with incarceration is the most typical and ruthless move intended to stop the struggle. In our desire to see our comrades out, what we can do is to break isolation and make the jailers’ work difficult.
So that fear changes side and moves to that of those who feel strong thanks to their uniforms and a disgusting State.
