On Saturday 29 late afternoon some comrades came out in answer to a call for a demo/gathering in the centre of Brixton, south London, for Nikos Romanos. Two banners, ‘Never again slaves, never again with downcast eyes! Solidarity with anarchist N. Romanos on hunger strike since 10.11.14’ and encircled A; … and ‘Freedom will blossom from the ashes of the prison’ and encircled A, were rigged up at the central junction, highly visible to all the people in the streets at the time, as well as those in passing buses and cars in the busy main road.
In spite of the fact that Brixton is undergoing vicious gentrification with mass evictions and the construction of thousands of luxury flats, there are still some individuals around who are not indifferent. Many took leaflets, over 200, some stopped for a lively exchange of ideas and for a moment a breathe of the elsewhere gave a little oxygen to alleviate the pressures of frenetic consumerism.

On the night of Friday 28 in some areas of London posters for Nikos Romanos and also for Thodoris Sipsas appeared, something unusual inside the heart of darkness of global capital.
