We present a new editorial project focussed on groups such as Individualists Tending towards the Wild and Wild Reaction, who practice direct action in Mexico with an anticivilization and anti-technology perspective. Here follow the introductive notes to Selva editions and the pdf of the pamphlet.
A collection of pieces and communiqués from the war against technology, progress and civilization in Mexico
The aim of this new series of pamphlets, which we have named SELVA, is to shine a light on the struggle against technology, progress and civilization carried out in Mexico in recent years by groups of direct action, in particular Individualists Tending towards the Wild and Wild Reaction.
As we set to edit the Italian translations of some of their communiques previously made known, we will re-publish all the claims and pieces of analysis made by these groups in chronological order, so that the development of their ideas and actions becomes clear, also in the light of the criticism and discussions they had with other anti civilization individuals and groups in recent years. We too have some criticism concerning a few aspects of Individualists Tending towards the Wild and Wild Reaction’s ideas, in particular their stance on authority, power and sexism, and we’ll express our opinion on the matter when the right time comes.
But first of all it is necessary to make their ideas known and come to understand them. The reader will then decide what to do out of it.
This publication is also meant as an open space where not only the groups’ communiques can be found, but also possible interesting contributions directly related to the topics being treated.
Individualists Tending to the Wild and Wild Reaction have always been responsive to discussions and the criticism towards them.
The contributions we might be sent, therefore, would be published in the coming issues and perhaps be translated into Spanish by anarchist websites, and in this way they would reach the groups of Wild Reaction, who would answer if they wanted to.
Despite some remarkable ideological discrepancies (we hold an anarchist and individualist anti civilization perspective, whereas Individualists Tending to the Wild and Wild Reaction take great care to highlight the fact they are not anarchists), the practical and theoretical contributions that these groups are giving to the struggle for the defence of Wild Nature and against the techno-industrial system are of paramount importance and worth of consideration and support.
