Spain, Madrid : ATM burnt in solidarity with the anarchist comrade convicted in Germany for expropriating a bank

The early morning of April 11 a Bankia ATM in Vallekas (Madrid), on Carlos Martín Álvarez street and painted in solidarity with the comrade.
The attack justifies itself: banks are one of the main engines of state society and capitalism. The investments in prisons, juvenile centres or arms industries; grant credit to companies and states; evict and speculate with the housing, complicity with gentrifying processes among others many responsibilities in the gears of capitalism, give good proof of that … The banking system throughout its network has always been one of the greatest enemies of the exploited, and therefore, of the Anarchists, as exemplified in expropriations and sabotage which have accompanied the anarchist struggle throughout its history.
Against the submissive leftist panorama (that reaches libertarian environments) that uncritically adds itself to controlled, civic and citizen protest, is clamouring for the freedom of dirty police and politicians in full catharsis of citizenist nationalism and many others swimming in the self-complacency of victimization in social networks, we are not renouncing attack.
This small show of solidarity serves as an expression of affection and encouragement for Lisa and for the rest of anarchist comrades retaliated by the State, in Italy, Greece, France, Germany, Turkey, Chile, Mexico, Russia and around the world.
Solidarity is attack!
Strength to Lisa!
Long live anarchy!

We hope that this little action will send strength and courage to the barricaders of the blockage resisting the gendarmes!

Germany , Berlin : Raid in Rigaer94 – Arrests spark resistance

Three weeks ago the current reinforcement of the siege of Berlin-Friedrichshain’s Nordkiez culminated in yet another crazy raid in Rigaer Str. 94, at the center of the so called “danger zone”. Two residents were imprisoned. The riot police is nearly 24/7 stationed in front of the squat and they make checkpoints in different streets. Undercover cops try to infiltrate the area.
At approximately 8 o’clock in the morning on 29th March 2018 our dear friend Isa was assaulted and arrested by special forces. 350 pigs were luring around the neighbourhood and waiting for him to be alone, walking his dog, Raf. Only then they dared to approach him. They ripped off his keys and entered Rigaer94 to raid his home. Dozens of pigs supported with ballistic shields and backed up by helicopter entered his flat, seeking to humiliate his teenage daughters, who, too, rank very high on the pigs’ personal lists of enemies of the law and order. Isa is accused of selfdefence against a drunken idiot, which attacked his family with a bottle and ended in hospital. He is also accused to have used pepperspray against a mad pig, which tried to enter the door of Rigaer94.
After two long years of round the clock siege, this is the most recent climax of escalation and police terror in our Kiez. The answer won’t be violent enough.
In the course of the action another resident of Rigaer94, Michal, was arrested. They both are kept imprisoned in JVA Moabit. Since eight month in prison is Nero, sentenced for attacking a helicopter with a laserpointer.

Leaflets given out on Friday 16th March during a NO TAP demo in Lecce

Against TAP and its accomplices
In the Melendugno surroundings (Lecce) construction works for the TAP gas pipeline are devastating a vast area planted with ancient olive trees.
A year ago, from March 2017, the local population started to mobilize, first against eradication of the olive trees and then against the [TAP] site itself, patrolled by hundreds of police and protected by cement barriers and barbed wire.
Barricades, road blocks, traffic disruptions, occupations of trucks and other forms of resistance have taken place in recent months, thereby increasing reliability for the struggle by the many enemies of the devastation planned, which at this stage consists of a huge task of cement construction which at a later stage will involve the digging of a tunnel under San Foca beach.
At the same time the awareness that one must put oneself at stake directly in order to stop the [TAP] work is growing, without compromise or mediation, without delegation, independently from the institutions and political parties, by self-organizing one’s struggle.

Translated by Act for freedom now!

In April 2016, Saipem (a firm linked to ENI) secured the contract concerning the offshore part of the TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline) project, a gas pipeline which from the gas field in the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan will reach San Foca on the Salento coast after passing through Greece and Albania.
The gas will then flow into the Snam (Pipeline National Company, separate from ENI only in form) network. From Brindisi up to Minerbio (Bologna) the gas pipeline, under a different name and Snam management, will go through the Apennines in order to get to Austria.
Since December 2017 Saipem has been working in the TAP site in Melendugno, preparing for the pipeline installation, protected by massive police deployments whose task is to fend off the strong local opposition to this project of devastation and plundering of the land.
Saipem main shareholders are:
ENI Limited Company: 30.54%
CDP Equity Fund: 12.5% (80% Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, 20% Banca d’Italia)
The reference shareholder for ENI Limited Company is the Ministry of the Economy and Finances, which holds a 4.34% quote directly and a 25.76% quote indirectly through the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.

In Lyon, we shut down the Bastion! – France

We apologize to the Town Hall for not having filed a building permit but last night we built a wall to close the social bastion to build a better future! Let’s open the borders, wall up the bastions of fascism!
To begin with we apologize to the town hall for not having registered building permit.
But we are among those who think that dealing with the town hall is at best, a sign of weakness at worst, a sign of treason. We expect nothing from these institutions.
Moreover, the administrative procedures are always long and at present, we are in a hurry.
There are those (elected or members of the government) who take tweezers to talk about the Bastion Social case, GUD, identities, etc … we take the trowel, the hammer and the brush in hand.
Since the installation of the Social Bastion in Lyon fascist aggressions have increased in our city but not only that.

Barcelona, Spain – Explosive attack on a Mercedes showroom (01/04/2018)

In the night between 31st March and 1st April, at midnight, we placed a homemade device made of two gas canisters with 100 grams of gunpowder as detonator, on a Mercedes showroom on Via Augusta 238.
We don’t think it necessary to justify an attack on a Mercedes showroom in a wealthy neighbourhood of Barcelona.
In spite of the hysteria of antiterrorism control, attack is possible. With the means that one has at one’s disposal, in the awareness that any action counts and we are all indispensable.
Freedom for the imprisoned comrades.

Lecce, Italy – On the latest night against TAP: and updates on free comrade Saverio now!

In the night between 10th and 11th April the TAP began to prepare the bases for the extension of the work along the 8 kilometres of track between the thrust shaft tunnel located in San Basilio and the area designated for the reception terminal. In the early hours of the night, therefore, about forty TAP opponents gathered together.
Antiriot police and Digos were already lined up in great numbers to guarantee the transit of the vehicles carrying more tons of cement barriers. The vehicles came up against several blocks in the middle of the main road, with placing and throwing of stones to slow down police charges against the demonstrators.
The long night of struggle continued between the provincial road and the entrance to Melendugno, until another police charge resulted in the arrest of two female comrades and a male comrade. After identification, the latter was the only one to be held and be taken to the police station where he was put under arrest. The charges the local press is squawking about are resistance, violence, aggravated bodily harm, dangerous throwing of objects and violation of an order banning him from the municipality of Melendugno.
Saverio is now locked up in the Lecce prison, where in the afternoon of Wednesday 11 a large number of people in solidarity gathered shouting anger and love for our comrade, in a demo animated by music, chants, amplified greetings and fireworks.

Fundraising for legal defence in Hamilton in the wake of conspiracy charges.
To Donate via e-transfer, please contact thetower@riseup.net
In the early morning hours of Friday, April 6th, police raided a home associated with some of those involved with organizing The Hamilton Anarchist Bookfair and The Tower. The door was kicked in, a flash grenade was thrown into the house, and a full SWAT team entered with assault rifles drawn. Three people were detained, and one person was arrested.
Cedar, our cherished friend, a solid comrade, and well-known local anarchist organizer, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (unlawful assembly while masked) in relation to the so-called “Locke St. Riot”. Conspiracy charges are notoriously ambiguous and have a long legacy of being used as a tool of political repression – as we have seen recently with the case of the J20 defendants, who were arrested for resisting Trump’s inauguration last January.
After several days of stall tactics from the Crown, Cedar appeared in court on Tuesday, April 10th for a bail hearing. Much to our dismay (and the shock of every lawyer we’ve spoken to), Cedar was denied bail. While we do not use this term lightly, the court proceedings can only be described as a political witch-hunt. In the end Cedar was, in part, denied bail because of their self-affirmed and proud anarchist politics. Until the bail hearing is appealed, Cedar will remain in jail.
This will likely be a long and costly legal battle, and we’re going to need help to fundraise in order to cover all of the associated costs. We love Cedar and can’t stand the idea of him remaining locked in a cage. Whatever amount you can spare, however big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

Anonymous submission to Northshore Counter-Info
Last night we left graffiti reading FREE CED(A)R on Montreal Street in Kingston.
It felt appropriate to make use of the steel shutters of the Elm Cafe to share our message. The shutters were installed last year following repeated unclaimed vandalism against the gentrifying business, provoking outrage among local yuppies as well as certain ‘progressives’ who rush to defend the sanctity of small business.
We hope this small act encourages curious local residents to reflect on the situation, and brings a smile to the faces of anarchists in Hamilton currently dealing with repression.

As It Stands Today: Cedar’s Arrest – Hamilton, Canada

First Contact
We got our first proper visit with Cedar this week! They are doing well considering the circumstances, and asked us to send big love to everyone on the outside, and a huge heap of gratitude to the folks offering support. They explained that the day of the arrest was quite scary and that it was hard to be deprived of any information about what was happening to them or to their friends. They were interrogated for 90 minutes that day about their gender expression and their body, forced to be accountable to the violent assignment of gender upon which prison (and all of society for that matter) are predicated. They explained that every day since then has gotten progressively less scary, and that they are now mostly occupied with organizing a legal defence and overcoming the boredom of a tiny jail cell. They are being kept in segregation on the female side of the prison, though that will likely be changing soon. Segregation is in some ways a safer way to engage with a prison, but it’s also incredibly lonely, which means that anything we can do to break that isolation becomes particularly important.

Greece, Athens: Solidarity gathering for ZAD NDDL at french embassy TUESDAY, 17 OF APRIL 18:00

LET’S DEFEND THE COMMUNES OF THE PRESENT
The liberated ground of ZAD Notre-dame-des-landes is an historical symbol of struggle. Fifty years ago, the construction of a second airport in the region of Nantes is decided, delegating the territory to the financial interests of multinational companies. This decision involves the expels from lands and houses as well as deep ecological damages, likely vanishing of the natural ground. The first reactions to cancel this project emerges from the local committees of farmers and syndicates. In the next years, eco-warriors, militants, activists, travelers, migrants will join the battle against the destruction of the lands, will occupied this zone, and declare it a ‘Zone A Defendre’. The decision to defend combatively the place was the term for a liberated ground to exist. In this fertile soil, libertarian forms of life and organization bloomed, a real shelter that was covering all the needs of the oppressed ones. The characteristic of openness that the struggle communities of ZAD had,  managed to create a local and a worldwide network of solidarity and resistance. The world of communalism and struggle manage to sabotage the capitalist interest. Their victory though didn’t mean that the state will give up lands to the movement.  Despite its declaration on 17th of January to definitely canceled the project, the state attacks once again.
Monday 9th of April. In the early hours of the morning, an armada of blinded vehicles, destructive engines, jeeps and riots buses  with 2500 cops followed by fire trucks and ambulances is preparing for a dismantling operation. In a moment, the whole artillery of the state machine is sieging the fields and woods of Notre-dame-des-landes, and invades in the occupied ground of the ZAD.  Cops are hunting the inhabitants, evict them from their houses, proceeding to control and arrests, launching a chemical war against those who resist. The crime is finalized when the machines are demolishing the houses and the communal structures, erasing any evidence of social life from the map. The squatters and solidarians are putting barricades on fire, fighting with stones, slingshots and molotovs, engaging their bodies as the last mean to avoid a total eradication of the communal places, agricultural and other vital projects.

en/it/ Italy: Update on anarchist comrades (arrested in September 2016 in the framework of operation ”Scripta Manent”

The anarchist comrade Anna Beniamino (arrested in September 2016 in the framework of operation Scripta Manent, currently detained in Rebibbia prison, Rome) has informed us (2 April 2018) that “the inevitable loudly comments”, made during the ongoing trial for the aforementioned operation, “earned” her and Marco Bisesti (detained since 09/2016, too, currently in Alessandria prison) a couple of disciplinary reports, commuted to a few days of solitary confinement.
Both comrades are laughing at “punishment”.
Solidarity and affinity with Anna and Marco, and with comrades imprisoned in Ferrara.

Yesterday in Meanjin (Brisbane, so called Australia) we watched on social media as the police brutalised and arrested peaceful Stolenwealth Games protestors on the Gold Coast. They used excessive force on young people, people with disabilities, and elders.
The police also tried to claim one young person self harmed while in their custody. Allies are urgently needed at Camp Freedom on the last two days of the Commonwealth Games, to join peaceful protests and protect the camp, which over the last two weeks, has been threatened by Neo Nazis, racists, and the Queensland Police force. Our action is in no way endorsed by Stolenwealth Games organisers and protestors (who have no knowledge of it), but they have our solidarity through this and more practical acts.

France: The time has come – Call for massive presence of people at the ZAD!

This week, the State decided to brutally destroy the collective experiment in the ZAD. We are resisting every day – residents, supporters, farmers, neighbors, young people, older people. We do it with our hearts, our bodies, our connections, with all the strengths that have become rooted in the countryside here over 50 years of struggles and accumulated hopes. But the State continues to destroy our houses, farms and other agricultural spaces, and workshops, to trample gardens, to raze everything that is beautiful. We need you here on the ground now!
To all of you who have been here even once, to everyone who could have come here and will be able to come in the future.

First of all, if you are able to spread the information about what is happening in Notre-Dame-des-Landes within you networks, that would be much appreciated. Help us resist and fight back with any means possible within our reach of means and sensibilities.
Since 3 days the french state is trying to evict the land-occupation of the zad «zone à Défendre» (zone to be defended). Since the abandonment of the project of the airport, a project contested since 50 years. since 10 years, call-outs for occupation had been spread and people came to help the struggle against a mega project that seemed useless and which they tried to impose by different means of repression.
Lots of different interests and reasons brought people to converge in theis area or to express there solidary with what was happening, the different forms and strategies the occupation managed to put in existence. Every blow the occupation had to take by the liberal state, just made it stronger. Everything they destroyed, we managed to rebuild even better and we cared for. A movement with all different components that engaged in the struggle, the citizens, farmers, anarchists, autonomous, or others who took opportunity from the occupation where able to hold back the construction of the airport project and had the determination to withstand the different kinds of attacks and pressures so far. Today, here they came again, this time with an even more oversized army in blue and equipment that made sure we knew we are at war.

A CALL FOR INTERGALACTIC SOLIDARITY ACTIONS EVERYWHERE TO END THE DESTRUCTION OF THE ZAD OF NOTRE DAME DES LANDES

Posted on
We are writing with the smell of tear gas rising from our fingers. The springtime symphony of birdsong is punctuated by the explosive echo of concussion grenades. Our eyes are watering, less from the gas than the sadness; because our friends’ homes, barns and organic farms are being destroyed. Bulldozers, supported by 2500 riot police, armored vehicles, helicopters and drones, are rampaging through these forests, pastures and wetlands to crush the future we are building here on the to the zad (The zone à defendre).
We are calling on you to take solidarity actions everywhere, it could be holding demos at your local french embassy or consulate, or taking actions against any suitable symbol (corporate or otherwise) of France ! And if you are not too far away, bring your disobedient bodies to join us on the zone. If the French government evicts the zad, it will be like evicting hope.
For fifty years, this unique chequerboard landscape was the site of a relentless struggle against yet another climate wrecking infrastructure – a new airport for the nearby city of Nantes. Farmers and villagers, activists and naturalists, squatters and trade unionists wove an unbreakable ecology of struggle together and three months ago on the 17th of January, the French government announced that the airport project would be abandoned. But this incredible victory, won through a diversity of creative tactics from petitions to direct action, legal challenges to sabotage, had a dark shadow. In the same breath that declared the abandonment, came the announcement that the people occupying these 4000 acres of liberated territory, the 300 of us living and farming in 80 different collectives, would be evicted because we dared not just to be against the airport, but its WORLD as well.
Since that victorious day, the battle has transformed itself and is now no longer about a destructive infrastructure project, but about sharing the territory we inhabit. We stoped this place from being covered in concrete and so it is up to us to take care of its future. The movement therefore maintains that we should have the right to manage the land as a commons (see its declaration The Six Points for the Zad because there will never be an Airport). Today this is the struggle of the zad (zone to defend) of Notre Dame Des Landes.
