Athens,Greece : Call for solidarity support at the courts Κάλεσμα στήριξης για τα δικαστήρια 22-24/01/2020 [ENG/GR]

[ENG]
On Saturday 11/1, the resquatting attempt of the buildings on Panaitoliou and Matrozou streets in Koukaki was violently attacked by the repressive forces of the state. The result was that 12 people in total were arrested from within the squats, people who were badly beaten, and also 9 more solidarians who supported the resquatting attempt in the neighbourhood.
The oppression continued on Sunday 12/1 when the cops attacked the solidarians outside of Evelpidon, arresting 2 more people. The fighting spirit and the decisiveness of the comrades in Koukaki might be answered with slander and attempts to terrorise us, but they inspire us to bigger and stronger struggles, not just in Koukaki but in every effort of resistance.
We support the cases:
– On Wednesday 22/1 at 9am for the arrests of Panaitoliou.
– On Thursday 23/1 at 9am for the arrests of Matrozou, as well as the ones outside Evelpidon.
– On Friday 24/1 at 9am for the arrests of the solidarians outside the squats.
– Nobody left alone in the hands of the state

GR:

Athens,Greece: Attacks on new democracy office(pettralona area) by Anarchists

On friday, 17/01, during the anniversary march of terror of Shahrzad Loghman, we attacked the local office of new democracy in pettralona with molotovs and stones. However the office, mostly has been cover by metals.
clearly, it is the greek oligarchy regime as our enemy, so targeting the office of new democracy was only part of our counter attacks against the regime. SYRIZA and NEW DEMOCRACY are same as being both puppet of the greek oligarchy regime. We believe that the answer of state violence is returned the violence to the state, in any means that comrades understand it.
We are living in 2020 that cops are armed to tooth with different types of weapons, so it is not 500 years ago that probably we could coping with soldiers of state by fires and stones, so the need of modern struggles should created the new and more armed resistance groups inside the movement with modern weapons, which can returned the state violence to the state in the levels that they used against us, like the murders of Alexis.G, Zak and others.
The social revolution, will happens on the base of workers struggle, in the time that workers will stop working and making riots in the streets. However preparation of social revolution include two general types of struggles that are supplements of each other: armed struggle that should be a part of a resistance movement in the term of closed groups and other is the open struggle that has ability for everyone to join it, like collectives, demonstrations and squats, which openly represent the struggle for society.
Bosses are bosses, no matter left or right.

Agadez, Niger : Incendiary revolt of Sudanese refugees in a UN camp – 4 January 2020

A revolt broke out in a camp of the UN at Agadez in Niger, Saturday January 4 2020.
Almost 90 per cent of the camp was reduced to ashes. They had been protesting since the middle of December to have their requests for refugee status and their shipment to Europe to be speeded up.

The Nigerian police affirm that they have “identified 335 Sudanese asylum seekers who participated in the fire in their accommodation shelter, a camp situated 15 km from Agadez, in the centre of Niger. According to the Attorney of the High court of Agadez, Seyni Saidou, on January 6 on the local television, the group had been arrested and put at the disposition of the police on Saturday January 4.

Italy – A poster that has appeared on the walls of Lecce

OUR TIMES
Infamy is the hallmark of our times
That is not hard to see: just raise your eyes from your smartphone and look around, throwing a glance at the reality around us and which we are immersed in. Remaining indifferent to the conflicts that flare up in the world, with all their load of thousands of dead and millions of displaced people, believing that the matter does not concern us, because we live in the “non belligerent” part of the planet, for example, is a sign of infamy.
Because the ongoing war has involved the whole planet for many years, and the part not being hit by bombs is the one in which they are they manufactured, armies train to massacre or to teach other armies the same, and they train the pilots of the bombers of those wars in the airports nearby … Not to see the suffering of the millions of refugees forced to wander around the planet in search of survival, willing to risk their lives in  crossing deserts and seas, at the mercy of those who speculate on that suffering, is also a sign of infamy.

France, Montpellier: Two years’ prison for the burning of the car of the municipal police on 7 September 2019

via: Sans_Attendre

A man of 45 years went to trial on Friday January 3, 2020 for the burning of the car of the municipal police during a demonstration of yellow vests on September 7 2019 in Montpellier. The accused, a building worker, was sentenced to two years’ prison, more precisely a sentence of 30 months, six of which suspended and on probation (with obligation to compensate victims and a ban on demonstrating for three years). He had been arrested then imprisoned on remand on November 21 2019 on the sole basis of an anonymous denunciation. An account of the hearing was published on lepoing.net, which details the judicial constructions to condemn him. Moreover the civil parties are claiming 3154 euros for the storefront and the town hall over 35,000 for the cost of the Dacia vehicle belonging to the municipal police. These damages will be fixed at a future hearing.

Italy: Updates about some anarchist prisoners (January 2020)

We briefly summarize the latest updates on the situation of some anarchist prisoners in Italy.
On November 29, 2019 a search took place in the cell of the Sardinian anarchist Davide Delogu, imprisoned in the Rossano Calabro prison. At the same time, he was notified of the opening of an investigation for “association with the purpose of terrorism or subversion of the democratic order” (art. 270bis of Italian criminal code). Subsequently, he was returned some previously seized manuscripts. A week later, the guards informed him that a telephone had been found in the sewers of the prison and that they intended to charge him with its possession; Davide refused to have it x-rayed and undressed.
We remind you that a solidarity fund has been opened for Davide Delogu, the coordinates are: Owner: Laura Gargiulo. Iban: IT27E0306967684510327514549.

Cologne, Germany: Sabotage of over 200 ‘Lime’ scooters – December 2019

In December, « Greta and Kenny » focused on a neighbourhood of Cologne as a test and dismantled over 200 electric scooters. « Lime », the biggest supplier of electric scooters for hire had decided not to reduce its offer in the hotter cities due to meteorological conditions. From now on, targeted sabotage has significantly reduced the number of scooters in the affected neighbourhood.
By giving a heavy blow across the screen of the electronic command (with a hammer, a metal tip of the mandrel or pin type), the scooter says goodbye and can no longer be unlocked. Repairs cost hundreds of euros; the Hipster-Mobil is usually withdrawn from circulation for a few days. Of course, the supplier has replacement equipment in stock. But he prefers to avoid the indocility of regular sabotage. In this respect we are sharing experience coming from Switzerland.

Greece : Solidarity Statement from Imprisoned of R.O. Revolutionary Struggle Members to the Koukaki Squatting Community

SOLIDARITY TO THE COMRADES OF THE KOUKAKI SQUATTING COMMUNITY
Since the end of August 2019, the state has launched a wide-scale crackdown on self-organized structures, occupations of the anti-authoritarian space and against squats, which also housed refugees and immigrants, mainly families with children. The present ND (Νέα Δημοκρατία / New Democracy) government is attempting to level everything left standing by the previous SYRIZA government, which had made more selective progress, with the goal of evicting squats of either immigrants or self-organized spaces of struggle.
The Koukaki Squatting Community is one of these self-organized structures of struggle, which was evicted some time ago, but their comrades in arms recaptured it yesterday which led to a second intervention by the police which resulted in the arrests and beatings of the comrades and those acting in solidarity. The dynamic resistance of the Koukaki Squatting Community who fought against the MAT (Riot Police) and the EKAM (Special Anti-Terrorist Unit) twice during eviction operations for the first time in such cases in Greece, is an exemplary stance to defend the options and practices of struggle that we should never abandon.

Interview with Anarchist Prisoner Amadeu Casellas in Catalonia

Since June 2018, the anarchist prisoner Amadeu Casellas is back in prison, accused of stealing 300,000 euros in Sabadell, Catalonia. As told by Amadeu, at the time of arrest, he was working at his home; they found absolutely nothing and also the victim did not recognize him at first, the judge took no consideration of these details when decreeing detention. He is currently imprisoned in Brians I prison in Catalonia. The following interview comes from the revolutionary website La Haine.

I first send my solidarity and that of La Haine to you in this new prison in which you’ve been suffering for months. How do you feel?
Very good.
How was your arrest and this new accusation?
At about 5 am they blew open the door where I lived. I was sleeping. I heard the noise and at first thought it was a neighbor, did not even think it was for me. Hooded police entered, threw themselves on me. I was hurt in the fifth and sixth vertebrae and I had to be taken to Granollers hospital. I had to wear a collar for about 20 days and was prescribed an anti-inflammatory.
I was accused of armed robbery. Some 20 policemen checked, and found nothing.
After spending years in prison, you came out in 2010 and now, 9 years later, you’ve been taken back to prison. Have you seen any change in the prison reality between these days?

Athens, Greece : Obsidian: Against Nations, all out on the 18th January against the state

Anarchy if anything is total opposition to the nation state. Anarchists don’t just critique or hold a strong suspicion of states, our movement was founded on their negation. This new decade is a new era for nations, one that will likely break them from their historical model. Within this vaccuum our ideals will be increasingly relevant and thrive if able to adapt. The opposite is true for the left wing of capital, those Marxists and liberals who already look like caricatures from the past. For this reason we must vigorously oppose any compromise with old ideas. Our world is moving too fast to look back.
Our current moment is a train crash of climate emergency, forced migration, mass information, war and growing population. To say the old system is only breaking is an understatement. It broke long ago and is now collapsing under it’s own weight like the many empires before it. Unfortunately the same common history still applies, new beginnings come after violent, unpredictable ends.

Kos Greece : the “island of Hippocrates”

Kos: the “island of Hippocrates” but also of extreme tourism and refugee humiliation, the island of cycling but also of disgusting sexual harassement.
As a cyclist and especially as a nature lover, I consciously choose to ride my fixed gear as far as I can, all around the island. My bicycle is my passion and my therapy, a way of training and meditation, my partner and my coach. I feel an indescribable freedom, self- reliance and autonomy. Cycling gives me strength, desire, joy, and for the most part I feel that the fear of travelling alone disappears over time. Safety is unfortunately not on that list because of lack of general manners, driver education, but also sexist behavior.
A few days ago, I was systematically harassed in a central but remote part of the highway (Villa Tartaruga turns), in broad daylight, by a passing driver who decided to overtake me 4 times, making dangerous u-turns and flanking me, on a steep uphill road, where I decided to dismount and walk. I get horns beeped at me on all of my cycling routes, for one reason or another, but this time included shouting sexual obscenities repeatedly, making me wonder if that piece of trash driver was waiting for me at the top of the hill. Not to mention the danger he posed to other drivers with his repeated u-turns up a steep hill with zero visibility. In this case, the driver decided to continue his course, since I did not grant him a ‘provocative’ reaction, for various reasons at that time.

New anarchist publication RUMOER #1 out now. EN/NL

We want more uproar, which is why we give you RUMOER! A publication which will hopefully provoke discussion, irritation, inspiration, agitation, and attack. Because we do not want a raise in wages, but the destruction of work. Because we do not want to shout ‘boo!’ but want to hear BOOM! We want a confrontation without compromise with the system that is destroying our lives and the planet.
In this first issue you will fi nd texts about the increasingly
disgusting expanding technologisation
of the world. Another one outlines why it is really not necessary to
have your phone with you at all times. Furthermore, we will talk about
police violence and the worldwide revolts against it, from Chile to
Iraq. Incisive texts concerning leftist misery, affi nity and
‘professional’ activism in a triptych of translations also appear in
this edition; after these, there is a critical text about the current
discourse of a large activist group dealing with the climate. And last
but not least, a primarily happy end — a chronicle of attacks and
anarchist interventions, by way of entertainment and necessary
inspiration.

Toronto,Canada: Explorations in rail disruption in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en

This weekend in Toronto, inspired by the actions of Wet’suwet’en land defenders and a recent callout for rail disruptions, some anarchists took to the rails to add our contribution to the building momentum of demonstrations, blockades, and acts of sabotage taking place across Turtle Island.
We debated writing this because, due to a lack of experience and the location we picked, we really couldn’t be sure that our attempt at sabotage succeeded. Ultimately, we wanted to share our message of solidarity and commitment to this struggle, and our own reflections and knowledge gained in this first attempt.
Previous posts on this site provide a great starting point for the how-to’s of this kind of mission. We picked a site in proximity to a rail junction and used copper wire to mimic a train on the tracks, (hopefully!) halting any rail traffic until the disruption was cleared away. Since we didn’t have any jumper cables, which provide a more dependable connection, we quickly scrubbed our connection points with steel wool to make sure there was no rust impeding the connection.

Athens,Greece: Following the events in Koukaki area on Saturday and the new attack of cops on solidarity people outside the courts of Evelpidon

Short update, some comments and a call for an assembly.

After the events in Koukaki on 11/1/20 , and the cops’ attacks on Sunday in Evelpidon, all of the arrestees were brought back to court today. Although their trials had been set for 11. 00 am (for the arrestees of 12/1) and 1:00 pm (for the arrestees of 11/1) there was a wait until roughly 7:30 in the evening in an outrageous attempt to exhaust the accused, their lawyers, and the about 150 solidarians who remained tirelessly outside the building until about 9 pm. It goes without saying that the MAT guards never stopped provoking the comrades throughout it all. The charges, despite the prosecutors’ insistence on the contrary, are all small and include disobedience, resisting authority and serious bodily harm. The arrestees finally had their trials postponed for January 22, 23, and 24, and were all released. The solidarians—who had been shouting slogans this entire time—welcomed them with celebration and cries of joy.
In this atmosphere, and parallel to the court cases, we were not surprised by the unprecedented slander of our comrades, the media war that targeted them, and the plain lies about the events that were thrown around by the gutter press of the left and right wing, taken straight from GADA headquarters. The usual recipe was complete on the channels with the stereotypical statements of some “frustrated residents” of Koukaki, the lament of syndicalist cops about the “anarchists’ murderous desires” and their destroyed equipment, and plenty of the famous terror–hysteria sauce—aimed clearly at convincing that the charges need to be “upgraded” to felonies.
