Call for a week of solidarity with anarchists and antifascists of Belarus 23-30 November 2020

Anarchists have always stood up against tyranny and dictatorship. Regardless of the color of the flag, raised by authoritarianism over this or that corner of the planet. So it is not surprising that anarchists are actively involved in the uprising against the dictator Lukashenko in Belarus. From the very first days, with our determination and uncompromising attitude, we showed that anarchism is a revolutionary movement capable of changing the world!
During the uprising, many of our comrades ended up in prison. Now at least 10 anarchists and antifascists are serving administrative arrests. In addition, 10 anarchists and 4 anti-fascists are waiting for criminal courts, punishment for some of them reaches 20 years in prison.
We call on you to join the week of solidarity and show by action your support for revolutionary anarchists and antifascists fighting against the occupation regime of Lukashenko! Every action counts!
Send reports on the actions and activities to the post email of ABC-Belarus belarus_abc@riseup.net.
Financial support can be send through ABC-Belarus (https://abc-belarus.org/?p=13136) or crowdfunding campaign (https://www.firefund.net/belarus).

Details of political affairs
Since the beginning of the protest about 40 of our comrades have been detained and sentenced on administrative cases. Some of them later became defendants in criminal cases. Without waiting for their arrest, they decided to leave Belarus. Many activists are now forced to hide from persecution in Belarus and abroad.
The case of anti-fascists “MTZ-RIPO”
Anti-fascists Vitaliy Shishlov, Tamaz Pipiya, Timur Pipiya and Denis Boltut were arrested after protests against Lukashenko’s secret inauguration in October this year. About 5 thousand people took part in protests throughout Minsk. Minor clashes with rioters took place in some parts of the city. According to the investigation, anti-fascists took part in them. Moreover, two of them were also charged with organizing mass riots.
All anti-fascists are now waiting for trial in the pre-trial detention center.
The case of the Belarusian anarcho-partisans
On October 22 in Soligorsk administrative building of State committee of forensic examination was attacked and cars were set on fire at the parking of prosecutor’s office of Soligorsk district. On the night of October 28 a building of traffic police department of Mozyrsky district was set on fire. Soon anarchists Ihar Alinevich, Dzmitry Dubovsky, Dzmitry Rezanovich and Sergey Romanov were detained on the territory of Belarus near the Ukrainian border.
The activists are accused of terrorist activity and illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives. At present, everyone is in the KGB jail in Minsk.
The case of Mikalai Dziadok
Anarchist and blogger Mikalai Dziadok was detained late in the evening of November 11 in a safe house near Minsk. After his arrest Dedok was beaten for several hours and forced to give passwords to the encrypted equipment.
The investigation believes that Dziadok repeatedly called for illegal actions on his Internet pages, including participation in protests and resistance to the cops. Dziadok himself was forced to go underground even before the revolution because of the threat of political persecution.
The case of Igor Banzer
Anarchist, antifascist and musician Igor Banzer was detained on October 20 in Grodno. He was charged under part 1 of article 339 (hooliganism) for performance in front of a cop car. Before that, he had been repeatedly detained at protest actions.
Akihiro Khanada-Gaevsky, Alexander Franzkevich, Maria Rabkova, Andrei Chepiuk, and Ivan Krasovsky were also detained for organizing, participating in, and financing mass riots. You can learn more about them on our website: https://abc-belarus.org/?paged=3&cat=3

—————
I am going ahead with conflictuality, exercise yard strike and food trolley strike. On 22nd October, following my family’s many requests,  for the first time I was allowed by the DAP [Director of Prison Administration] to make a video call with my parents and no one else, otherwise they would block the video, 41bis style.  I don’t want to say too much, but I think that the pressure applied with determination with the campaign of solidarity strikes had some effect on this concession, and also on the fact that a week later the bareaucracy moved me to another isolation unit that is almost empty (the two there sleep 18 hours a day… some dead silence was needed…). They’ve given me a better cell with tiles on the floor and also on the walls of the small toilet, a luxury, at last there is no water leaking, and for now, to sum up, we’ve gained a little improvement, i.e. better living conditions in the cell and starting video calls. Hamburg,Germany: Back on the park bench text by the 3 Anarchists

Back on the park bench
Now the time has come – the main hearing in the so-called “Park Bench Trial” is over, the verdict of the Grand Criminal Chamber 15 at the Hamburg Regional Court has been pronounced after more than 50 days of trial hearings. Presumably this is not the last word; it may still take some time until the verdict becomes final.
But we – the now sentenced anarchists – want to have our say, which is something we have not done (publicly) together until now.
There will certainly be more on the course of the investigations and proceedings elsewhere and at a later date. First of all we want to express our gratitude and commitment here and say a few words about the verdict and the temporary end of this odyssey. Although there have been public statements from prison on various occasions, there were none on the charges and the spectacle of the trial until the end.

News from the social war / Thursday November 5 2020
October 16 at around 9p.m. in the municipality of Estación Central [in the western suburbs of Santiago], the driver of a Transantiago bus was held up with guns and forced to get out. Unknown persons sprinkled petrol over the bus completely burning the vehicle, at the corner of Portales and Padre Hurtado streets.
Fire-fighters quickly arrived and found leaflets in the surrounding area saying: « Faced with a new electoral pact. Revolutionary violence against the State/prison/capital. Unceasing attack against the cogs of the power machine».
This action took place a few days before the anniversary of the revolt of October 18, and on the eve of the plebiscite for a new constitution.

In the night of October 23, a loud noise shook the headquarters of the Electoral service, SERVEL, in Temuco, a few days before the plebiscite for a new constitution [held on October 25], a strategy aimed at institutionalizing and calming the revolt.
The cops of the GOPE [Grupo de Operaciones Policiales Especiales, groupe d’opérations spéciales des Carabineros chiliens] quickly turned up at the scene to find that it was a device made with black powder which only made a noise, without damage or injury.
The attack wasn’t claimed and no leaflets were found in the vicinity.

Greece :A letter from  Polykarpos Georgiadis about the situation in the Greek prisons

via: ilrovescio.info
In recent months the far right neoliberal government has launched a tempest of propaganda on prisons through the controlled media aimed at creating a deformed narrative on the prison situation, thereby favouring a methodical abolition of the rights conquered with the blood of the prisoners themselves. These are not rights conferred by some merciful government but conquests that were won through hard struggles, revolts, torture, hunger strikes, privations.
In this propaganda campaign, the prisons are being presented almost as places of rest and leisure, with luxury cells and services, in the same way that the junta of the colonels presented the places of confinement. They were ridiculous to the point that they even indicated kettles, small speakers, USBs with music and films, etc. as luxury articles. But instead of calling up the various chiefs of the prison guards such as Aravantinos and the various robocops, who give a false image of prisons, journalists should make the effort to go into the prison wings themselves to see the real conditions of life in person. Of course the image shown by the media is distorted and misleading. The reality is completely different. Thousands of people are literally crammed up in disgusting buildings, in inhuman shameful conditions of detention. Obviously, this is nothing new for Greek prisons. However, in the current conditions of pandemic the situation is even more dreadful. Not only are the conditions of detention still deplorable, but no substantial health measures have been adopted to protect the health of prisoners, who continue to be piled into cells that are becoming the antechambers of coffins. The prisons are filling up each day more and more and are on the verge of collapse, at the same time as the government – through the ever-available media – are publicizing a “spectacular fall in criminal delinquency”. Greece : Public denunciation by prisoners of the prison of Diavata

via: ilrovescio.info
Based on the coronavirus tests carried out, 10% resulted positive to the virus. Not everyone was tested, only 150 prisoners and prison staff.
We have 10 people locked up in 20 square metre units which should normally contain 5, so are unable to take care of our personal hygiene.  Those who tested positive to the virus are in here with us. Without supplying us with bleach, detergents and antiseptics to clean the cells. While the prison administration should supply this, the governor’s response is that there is no money because there are no funds available from the ministry. We haven’t been given any face masks or disposable gloves.
We can’t wash our clothes. We do not have access to the washing machines. We can’t give clothes out to our relatives to clean them for us, because the ministry prohibits bringing anything to the visiting hall from outside due to the coronavirus. There is nothing we can do against the pandemic. They have closed everything, the whole prison is closed down. They only let us have hot water once a day, which no more than ten people can bath with. We have no water heaters in the cells for hot water to meet our needs.
In Diavata, as in the other Greek prisons, the main method for facing the pandemic inside them seems to be focused on prevention of the virus entering, mainly through the prohibition of basic prison functions, and, clearly, not through health shielding.

Athens,Greece: Anarchist Collectivity Masovka – Announcement for the collection of the essentials for the insurgent refugees of Lesbos.

Sharing goods in Victoria square.

Another announcement of our collectivity was completed with success.
We want to thank all the comrades that corresponded to our invitation, bringing essentials –in our pre-arranged appointment- from their lag for the trapped and insurgent refugees of Mytilene. It is impossible to express our gratitude with just a thankful text but at this point, this is the only way.In the intervening period between our invitation and the collection of the essentials, the events unfolded as far as the refugees were concerned, were rapid.
The state under the guise of Covid-19 took care to isolate completely the refugees from the society and not even one from our comrades in Mytilene (the essential would be delivered to our comrades from the conquest of Mpinio), as they themselves informed us, has any kind of access or communication with the refugees. We were informed from the announcement of the assemble of Solidarity With Migrants about the adduction of 14 comrades who shared printed material outside the camps of Shisto, Eleona and Skaramaga.

LET’S STOP THE G5 NETWORK AND THE SMART CITY
In recent months the words we’ve been hearing most often are “health and well-being” and “state of emergency”.
In this context, renewed and strengthened with DPCM [government decrees], good health coincides or rather cannot be separated from the implementation of a state of emergency that permits them to do anything. As well as destroying all forms of freedom right away, this techno-health regime is also engaged in mortifying the future of the next generations, considering what is happening in schools – and not only – against children. It is no longer hiding its true intentions and is getting ready to change the world  irreversibly.

Hamburg: against jails, motorways and those who profit from them
In the night of November 3 to 4, we destroyed a STRABAG utility vehicle on the Sievekingsallee with fire to express our anger against one of the largest construction companies in Europe.
There are many reasons to hate and attack Strabag.
Strabag offers a wide variety of construction services and is one of the leading and largest construction companies in Europe. For example, you can find their logo on every street corner in Hamburg, reminding us that a new office building or other luxury hotel is to be built. We are increasingly suffocated by buildings that make the city even more attractive to financial sharks  and business leaders and thus increasingly transform the city into a city of the rich.

Chile: One year after the popular revolt, the anarchist fire is gaining strength

via:  Attaque
“…when you look for alliances, you end up modifying your objectives in the name of the political justification of the struggle: a “better future”. Not realizing that faith in the future is essential for the perpetuation of domination. Always living in the future is precisely the traditional method for not living here and now, moving away from the permanent conflict implicit in the anarchist war for ever …
Basically, behind this positioning are concealed outdated instituting positions. True to the echo of the siren song, some have heard verses of praise to freedom – which resonate at the dawn of every revolution – without knowing that in reality they are just hymns to the new constituent Power.
Then come the naive explanations, the search for motivations and causes of “deviations”, “betrayals”, the old story of the “betrayed revolution” will be repeated ad nauseam, instead of seeing that a Revolution has never been (nor ever will be) on the side of freedom, but always in the service of power, because any revolution is intrinsically instituting… ”Gustavo Rodriguez, « Letter to a Chilean about the current situation », November 2019.
After a year of paralysis, because of the health measures imposed by the Piñera government thousands of people came out into the streets to “celebrate” the first anniversary of the popular demonstrations that shook the Chilean region last October. Today, in a context of popular revolt, the left parties and the scourge of the avant-garde aim, as always, to control the masses, with their multiform “struggle” strategy.

(Chile) Nuevo número de CONFRONTACIÓN

PDF:

asesinadxs, torturadxs, agredidxs y mutiladxs.

$hile, octubre-noviembre 2020.

Brussels – Verdict of the Court of Appeal

On Thursday, November 12th, the judge of the Appeals Court in Brussels made its decision public concerning the case against anarchists accused of criminal association and various crimes;
2 persons got 10 months of probation (during 5 years)
1 person got 8 months of probation (during 5 years)
1 person got 6 months of probation (during 3 years)
5 persons got a suspension of sentencing (during 3 years)
1 person got acquitted
(2 persons got acquitted in first instance and were not part of the
appeal) people also got sentenced to paying fines and a part of the
investigative and juridical costs, but the state will have to pay the
bill for the phone taps (by far the biggest amount)
(a suspension of sentencing means the judge finds you guilty and doesn’t set a sentence, but leaves this up to the next judge if you get caughtin a certain period of time for a similar crime – not very different from probation)
***
From 2008, the Belgian State started a large investigation aiming at
different struggles – but always without concessions – against
deportation centers, borders, prisons and the world of authority and
exploitation. This investigation is led by the Brussels’ anti-terrorist
branch of the police backed by the State Security and the intelligence
agency of the army as well as various anti-terrorist branches of other
European countries. The investigation is closed in 2014, culminating in
the referral of 12 anarchists to the courts under the accusation of
“terrorist organization” and more specific charges such as participation in a non-authorized demonstration outside the detention center 127bis in Steenokkerzeel (transformed into “attempted arson” by the prosecutor), participation in a fight with two limousine drivers and damaging their vehicles (with the aggravating circumstance of “being motivated by hate”), having insulted European Union civil servants (with the aggravating circumstance of “being motivated by hate”), assault and wounding of police officers on several occasions, obstruction of the public road, damage in various forms, etc.

Chile – On the situation of comrades Francisco Solar and Mónica Caballero

29th October 2020
As you know, our comrades Francisco Solar and Mónica Caballero have been in jail since July, accused of various explosive attacks that took place between July 2019 and February 2020. Legal proceedings against them are still open and so are the terms of the investigation, and there are no significant news in this respect.
As for the situation of each of them, we have the following news:
Francisco Solar is still being held in the Maximum Security Unit of Prison (CAS), and he was recently inflicted two searches, carried out by police intelligence services in collaboration with the guards. Notes of the comrade’s defence case were seized as well as drafts of texts, and he is also being inflicted continuous abuse by the prosecutor, who demanded these searches.
Mónica Caballero, on her part, is being held in a Module for public crimes in the prison of San Miguel, where for weeks she had to face total censorship on communication. No letter, it doesn’t matter of what sort, could get in or out; at last, after repeated pressure, the prison administration established a protocol to allow the comrade to send out letters, but at the same time it forbids letters to be send directly from the prison by post. Considering the situation, we have temporarily set up the following address, so that comrades from other countries can send their letters to us, and we’ll then have them delivered to the comrade:
Santa Isabel 0151
Locale 6
Providencia
Santiago (Chile)
In spite of openings and the end of isolation, there are no visiting rooms in prisons, but only the possibility to make phone calls and video calls, which are however monitored by the guards.
Solidarity with Mónica and Francisco!

November.
