4/2/21
Today 4/2/21 we are announcing the end of the hunger strike that we started on 16/1/21, as a sign of solidarity with the request of Dimitris Koufontinas to be transferred to Korydallos prison. We believe that our main goals, which were to accompany Dimitris Koufontinas in the difficult battle he had begun and to enrich the project of solidarity, have largely been fulfilled.
We wish good strength to comrade Dimitris Koufontinas, who is in critical and dangerous situations for his health and his life, going through the 28th day of a hunger strike, as well as to those standing by him in every way and under adverse conditions.
Nothing is over, everything continues!

[Received via e-mail in spanish and translated into english by malacoda.noblogs.org].

The comrades are in prison since July 24, 2020 after being arrested and charged in connection with explosive attacks in July 2019 and February 2020. The initially decreed six-month investigation recently ended and as expected the prosecution will ask for the investigation to be extended at a hearing scheduled for February 11, 2021.
Both remain under a strict prison regime, Francisco in the Unidad de Máxima Seguridad of the High Security Prison and Mónica in the Módulo de Connotación Pública of San Miguel Prison. After a hard mobilisation – inside and outside the prison – demanding the return of visits for all prisoners, since mid-December Mónica and Francisco have been able to have visits, but they are still far from the dignified conditions they are trying to recover: visits have been two hours, every three weeks, and only one person had access.

Support the 6 arrested on 1/3/18, in Greece, accused of clashes with the police

https://www.firefund.net/solidaritysix
On Thursday 1st March 2018, after the anti-fascist anti-nationalist demonstration, in response to nationalist protests over Macedonian issue occurring at various regions of the country, has been finished, violent clashes with the police followed, as an act of solidarity to hunger/thirst striker Dinos Giagtzoglou. Police made 6 arrests.
After 4 days of detainment in awful conditions, full of physical and verbal violence and police brutality, we were released with restrictions, including prohibition of gathering for political purposes in the whole country, obligation to show up in the police station every two weeks and a bail of 7,000 €.
Our presence at the police stations is still ongoing, an unpleasant routine. We are all the time forced to face the irony, the hard looks, the hatred, in general, of the authorities, the hatred they have by nature for everyone that doesn’t agree to their monopoly of violence.
Three years after, at 3/3/2021 the case is being tried by the mixed jury court of Kalavryta. The charges laid against us have been classified as misdemeanors as well as felonies, while we are obligated to gather and disburse the tremendous amount of 6,000€, for the trial costs, during a period when all aspects of our lives have been suspended and even survival of millions people consists a daily struggle.

As governor-criminal De Luca begins preparations for continuous enforcement of new waves of repression and mass control, the nightmare-reality of last year has led to the consolidation of opinion according to which rebellion against the status quo is now inevitable.
Less and less confident in a science of profit which will only bring about more inequalities between rich and poor countries, between populations who are vaccinated and those who are not.
The capitalist articulation is extending further and further, with mass control enforced with the alibi of the health emergency, with entire masses mangled psychologically, physically and economically by corrupt governors’ nefarious choices and an increasingly uncertain future with not one spiral of light.
With such preambles control is increasingly blatant. Exercised by the State it seems inevitable or even worse, “right” in people’s eyes.
Confidence in the human being is being lost more and more, powers are managing to act in their own interests more and more easily.

It feels as though an eternity has passed since that 8th March 2020 when the spark of revolt ignited the powder keg of the Italian prisons where an already unbearable existence became even worse with the restrictions imposed by the State due to the Covid emergency. In response to the anger and courage of the prisoners in revolt the Italian State murdered 15 people.
It evacuated the spaces conquered by the prisoners with teargas, truncheons and hydrants, then proceded with transfers and abuse.
We are also witnessing and experiencing more repression and control outside those disgusting walls being enforced with the excuse of the pandemic. The State and its minions are inflicting years of jail, public security and surveillance prevention measures, fines and blows on all those who could show some form of hostility.

Thessaloniki,Greece: Incendiary attack in solidarity with revolutionary Dimitris Koufontinas

“The possibility of revolution and a classless society depends on the

D. Koufontinas

Hunger strike from 8-1-2021

The imprisoned revolutionary D. Koufontinas is on a hunger strike from 8-1, claiming his transfer to Korydallos Prison, where he has served most of the exhaustive sentence imposed on him. In one night, cops abducted him from the rural prison where he was being held in order to transfer him to Domokos prison, after a provision had been made in a law that was passed with the obvious purpose of retaliation by the state in his face. It is worth noting that even the law that was passed in retaliation explicitly states that the removal of D. Koufontinas from the rural prisons implies his transfer to the prison where he previously served his sentence, namely Korydallos.

The state’s vengeful rage against D. Koufontinas is related to his
overall political course, he never signed a statement of remorse, he
never denied the armed struggle from the quiver of the working class for emancipation. He does the same now, claiming with the only weapon he has, that is, putting his body as an embankment.

But D. Koufontinas is not alone. He has a multifaceted movement that
supports him and that tries to be his voice, at a time when the media is
burying his struggle. From our incarcerated comrades who started a
hunger strike supporting him, from public interventions, marches and
distributions, to night attacks, the people who follow the thread of
resistance will stand with him until the end.

The context of the hunger strike is a very special condition for the
social base. A curfew, anti-immigration policy, a protest bill, a
bankruptcy code, an environmental bill, an education bill, and countless Casus Belli* reforms have been passed down through the pandemic, and the situation seems to be getting worse and worse. the growing involvement of the army in social life and the police surveillance imposed on us.

Public hospitals are collapsing while money is only available for the
army, the media, the police and businesses (purchase of Raffale
aircraft, funds for the police, Petsa list, etc.)

So against the social cemetery that they are trying to impose, we chose
to attack as a minimal sign of solidarity with the fighter D.
Koufontinas. In the early hours of Saturday 30-1, we placed improvised
incendiary devices, setting fire to two vans of the General Post Office
and the facade of the security company Galaxy in Pylaia, Thessaloniki.

During the pandemic, the General Post Office became rich by literally
pressing on the heads of its employees, while in fact it became known
that one of its executives dared and beat an employee of the company. On the other hand, we know very well the role of Security companies, the hired thugs, that is, who protect the wealth of the bourgeoisie, whether it is their luxury homes and vehicles, or the products on the shelves of supermarkets. Thus we tried to put our little stone in the night conduct of the class struggle. We warn in all tones that any complication in the health of the striker will not go unanswered by the movement and its structures.

They Try To Destroy The Memory! – Urgent International Solidarity Needed for Revolutionary Comrade Dimititris Koufondinas

“The revolutionary organization of November 17 no longer exists. It was up to me from that organization to speak, to fill the gap of silence. In this long struggle, it does not matter if you fall, but to find another hand to continue. “Roads change, times change, ways change, but the purpose is the same.”
 – Dimitris Koufontinas
On 22nd December 2020 revolutionary prisoner Dimitiris Koufontinas was abducted from his cell and transported from the basement of Korydallos prison, where he was held, to the prison of Domokos. On 8th January he started a hunger strike in order to return to Korydallos prison where he was supposed to be, according to a law that the government had implemented. In solidarity anarchist prisoners Nikos Maziotis and Giannis Dimitrakis have also been on hunger strike from 16/1. Other prisoners Vaggelis Stathopoulos, Polikarpos Georgiadis went on hunger strike for 5 days. Already 26 days have passed since he started the hunger strike and our comrade’s health has deteriorated significantly due to the fact that it is not the first time he has done a hunger strike. He has been taken to hospital and has been put in total isolation. It is obvious that the Greek state has no intention of changing their decision thus passively enforcing an unofficial death sentence. From the beginning of this hunger strike many people have shown their support.
What follows is a series of public actions that have occurred since our Koufontinas has been on hunger strike.
– Intervention at the Lawyers Association of Athens.
– Intervention outside the house of Arios Pagos (Supreme Court of Cassation)
– An interference was made at the office of lawyer and member of the Central Scientific Prison Council and close partner of General Secetary of Anti-Crime Policy, who is one of the main people responsible for Koufontinas’ transfer.
-Many comrades who stand next to Koufontinas occupied the ruling party’s offices (Nea Demokratia, New Democracy) and after stopped the meeting of the Greek Minster of Civil Protection in Patras.
During all this time, almost every day, people write wall slogans on walls, hang banners of every corner and even write texts for Koufontinas struggle. Many attacks on multiple targets (banks, capitalist entities, politicians etc) have taken place. Two days of action have already taken place so far in various cities of Greece, where police violently attacked them in order to stop any movement of solidarity with Koutfontinas.
In the midst of the pandemic, the repression of the State is evolving into the wildest and most regular form we have experienced in recent years. Based on the above and that the health of our comrade is in danger due to his hunger strike, it’s imperative for every struggling man and woman to be informed and stand next to Koufontinas, we hope the voice of solidarity to Dimitris Koufaontinas will reach every corner of the world.

Text by International Anarchist Comrades in Solidarity

Since the 8th January Dimitris Koufontinas imprisoned revolutionary in Greece has been on hunger strike in protest at being transferred to Domokos prison, a modern high security hellhole which is a graveyard for the uncontrollable prisoners in the Greek prison system. Even by the Greek state’s standards he should have been sent back to Korydallos prison in Athens. He has been imprisoned since 2002, being convicted for membership and actions while as a member of former revolutionary organisation 17 November.
Even though we do not agree with the theoretical stance of the former group, we feel it is important to give a background on the organisation which conducted an urban guerrilla campaign spanning over 27 years, of armed robberies, assassinations, and bombing attacks against the Greek state, banks, business, even targeting American, Turkish and British interests in Greece which included the shooting of Richard Welch, a CIA chief and Stephen Saunders, a British military attache. We receive and distribute:
“We will organize Nuclei of Immediate Action to hit the state and capital.”
The political prisoner Dimitris Koufontinas is part of our flesh, part of the flesh of the revolutionary movement, part of the historical experience of the guerrillas of post-war Europe. A consistent and unrepentant fighter who has been imprisoned for his choice of facing the barbarity of the capitalist system under threat of weapons. Such a fighter can only find us at his side with all our hearts and strength, against far-right revanchism, against state propaganda, against the regime of isolation that has been imposed on him. He has been on hunger strike since January 8th, demanding his transfer to Korydallos from Domokos prison, where he was suddenly transferred after being kidnapped from the rural Volos prisons.
Nea Demokratia’s government is not even complying with the very law that was created specifically to bury Dimitris Koufontinas even deeper in prison. The resistance of the comrade who once again puts his own body as the ultimate barrier for a battle of coherence and individual dignity, concentrates around him all the historical, political and social meanings that define the stakes of our time.

Athens, Greece: Taking responsibility for the attack on American company Euronet in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas

31/01/2021

Dimitris Koufontinas, fighter of the 17 November Revolutionary Organization, has been on hunger strike since 8th January, demanding to be transferred to Korydallos prison. The right-wing administration, extending the state of emergency and making it permanent, suspended its own legislation to avenge the unrepentant and militant stance of D. Koufontinas.
Thus, he was transferred from the rural prisons of Kassavetia to the prison of Domokou, with a false document that allegedly presented him as being in Korydallos prison.
Constantly in the crosshairs of the Greek and American states, D. Koufontinas goes on a hunger strike for the umpteenth time, claiming the basic rights acquired against the revenge of democracy. The hardening of the anti-terrorist regulation in the prisons in the person of D. Koufontina, foreshadows the treatment reserved by the State for the militant prisoners in conflict with the regime. This is confirmed daily by the outrageous Sofia Nikolaou with her statements and interviews, describing the state plan for the extermination of the political opponents of domination.
As a minimum sign of solidarity with the hunger strike of Dimitris Koufontinas as well as the 2 other hunger strikers Nikos Maziotis and Giannis Dimitrakis we chose to attack with paint and hammers on Thursday 28/1, causing damage to the Euronet headquarters right next to Kallithea Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s cultural centre. This company is an American provider of electronic payment services, based in Kansas, which offers worldwide automated cash registers (ATMs), point of sale (POS) services, credit / debit card services, currency exchange and other online financial services and payment software. As of 2019, Euronet serves 50,000 ATMs and 330,000 point of sale terminals in 170 countries.

Urgent update on the situation of Dimitri Koufontinas, on hunger strike since January 8. His decision to undertake this form of protest is a consequence of his transfer, which took place at the beginning of January, from the rural prison of Kassevetia to that of Domokos. The days of hunger strike are now many, he is 64 years old and this is the fifth hunger strike he has undertaken since he is in prison (2002). He is in Lamia hospital, he is unconscious for most of the day. Doctors say that at any moment he could have a sudden collapse and die or go into a coma.
Given the situation of very high repression that the Greek country is experiencing at the moment, with the objective difficulty of taking to the streets, the Greek comrades believe that now more than ever would be very important to take actions in solidarity in other countries.
Let us join the Greek comrades to put pressure on the executive and the prison administration.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT – Solidarity with Dimitri Koufontinas
Urgent update on the situation of Dimitri Koufontinas, on hunger strike since January 8. His decision to undertake this form of protest is a consequence of his transfer, which took place at the beginning of January, from the rural prison of Kassevetia to that of Domokos. The days of hunger strike are now many, he is 64 years old and this is the fifth hunger strike he has undertaken since he is in prison (2002). He is in Lamia hospital, he is unconscious for most of the day. Doctors say that at any moment he could have a sudden collapse and die or go into a coma.
A new law was approved in Greece earlier this month in the context of prison reform. This law, among other regulations that worsen life inside prisons, has established that those convicted of terrorism cannot have access to rural prisons (more “open” prisons to which long-term prisoners have access) . This law is retroactive and its approval immediately activated the bureaucratic process for the transfer of Dimitri. The same government text establishes that inmates who no longer have the right to stay in rural prisons are transferred from the latter to the last prison they were in: in the case of Koufontinas, he should therefore have been transferred to the Athenian prison of Koridallos.
However, the prison administration decided to send him to the Domokos maximum security prison. To give the transfer a semblance of legitimacy, the prison administration also falsified the documents, writing that the comrade would be taken from Kassevitia to Koridallos and then from there to Domokos, which never happened.
The differentiation of circuits for prisoners theoretically does not exist in Greece, also thanks to the notable protests carried out by inmates – and also outside – a few years ago when there was an attempt to introduce the principle of differentiation of regimes here too (Koufontinas had been one of the protagonists). But in recent years, the prison administration’s attempt is to make Domokos prison an institution with stricter rules for “special” prisoners: here are imprisoned some of the prisoners convicted of criminal association in the trial against Alba Dorata and there are also comrades Nikos Matsiotis and Yannis Dimitrakis (also on hunger strike since January 16 in solidarity with Koufodinas).
Faced with these facts, Koufodinas decided to react in the only way he thought was appropriate, starting an indefinite hunger strike, asking to be transferred to Koridallos prison, as the same text of the law would establish.
Here in Greece we are trying to put in place initiatives that are as incisive and as broad as possible to try to put pressure on the executive and the prison administration.
Given the situation of very high repression that the Hellenic country is experiencing at the moment, with the objective difficulty of taking to the streets, now more than ever doing initiatives (even if only of testimony and “denunciation”) in other countries could be important.
Time is running out …

Swiss Global Enterprise attacked – no deal with Turkey! (Switzerland,Zurich)

With pyrotechnic force we smashed the front door of SwissGlobalEnterprise in Zurich (SGE) last night.
The SGE is an organization of Swiss capital, founded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) with the aim of promoting Swiss investments in the world. Investments, for example, in countries such as Turkey, for which the SBU has a special country advisory on offer this month, for Swiss companies looking to gain a foothold in
Turkey.

While the SBU advises Swiss capital on the possibilities of investing in
fascist Turkey, SECO is working diligently to further improve these
possibilities: In the near future SVP-BR Guy Parmelin (Minister of
Economy) wants to conclude the renewed free trade agreement with Turkey an expression of support for the fascist regime in Ankara. We say: Down with fascism and capital!

Switzerland, as a member of the EFTA countries (Switzerland,
Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway), has been negotiating a renewed free
trade agreement with Turkey for several years. The previous free trade
agreement was already established in 1992 and regulates the free trade of goods.
Currently, the textile industry in Switzerland in particular benefits
from this, as it has its products manufactured in Turkey under lousy working conditions and then sells the T-shirts etc. here for a fat extra profit.

In the bunker courtroom of the prison of Lecce in the morning of Friday, January 15, the prosecutor submitted requests for sentencing 90 No TAP accused, on trial for a number of episodes of struggle which took place between 2017 and 2018. The charges range from violence and resistance against public officials to breaching expulsion orders from Lecce and Melendugno, where the struggle against the gas multinational was most intense. In the first instance trial the sentences requested ranged from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 2 years and 3 months.
During the hearing a comrade made a declaration concerning the charges against her, here is the text:
In this trial I am accused of having repeatedly breached an order prohibiting me from being present in the territory of Lecce and Melendugno. Some policemen, in the role of witnesses, stated that I would have deliberately and in contempt of their job of observation, neglected to hide or change my appearance. The many photographs that portray me confirm this observation. In fact I always took part in the demonstrations and the various protests without caring about the prohibition and without concealing myself. And I often spoke out, as did many others, to repeat the reasons for those mobilizations, which have involved a great number of people over two years.

South East Kent, UK: Napier barracks, concentration camp for immigrants and refugees, set on fire.

Can you imagine the building you live in burning down and everyone being rushed outside with sirens and smoke everywhere? It sounds frightening, but what would you expect to happen next?
What you wouldn’t expect is for everyone to be told to go back inside, but all the lights and the heating are turned off so it’s cold and dark. And as the night goes on it gets colder. But all the staff  have been evacuated so only residents are left alone, with no information or care. Many have Covid and are very sick.
There are people left outside as one of the buildings is unusable after the fire. No one has done anything to help these people so you self-organize to share your bedrooms with them, although you have no spare bedding and it’s freezing with no heating…Some men are refusing to sleep indoors and are outside in freezing temperatures in sleeping bags…

Dozens staged a protest at the gates of the barracks, shouting “freedom” and hoisting banners

One refugee told : The situation at Camp Folkestone is very bad
He said: We wait in line for hours.
We are in a prison and in one room sleep 40 people.

There is no food or drink at all. Because the people who are supposed to look after you have done nothing. The police bring in riot vans.. As there is no one else. You have to use your torch to see.
One of the people who are sick turns bad so we ask to phone an ambulance….
Solidarity with the immigrants and refugees

The discussion below reflects an overview of the conditions  experienced by individuals who are trying to liberate themselves from the system of social hypocrisy and the mentality of subordination. Our experience is still fragile, a newborn.
During the revolution and even now the difficulty lies in our inability to observe clearly the inherent authoritarian power within the society and the state. Consequently this prevented – and still prevents – us from stripping the layers they hide behind and fighting them raw and bare.
